About

rayBLAST is an independent studio working at the intersection of games, XR, and agentic AI — turning emerging technology into experiences people actually want to use.

The studio

Built deliberately.

Founded in 2007, rayBLAST has spent every era of the industry — console, mobile, headset, and now smart glasses and wearables — doing the same thing: turning emerging technology into experiences people actually want to use.

Intelligent, agentic systems are part of how we build and how our team works — human-directed and AI-accelerated, so a small, sharp studio can move with the range of a much larger one. The goal is never automation for its own sake. We don't ship on vibes — every product is engineered, tested, and accountable to a human who put their name on it.

Ethics first

Not a footer — a design constraint.

The technologies we work with are powerful and moving fast, and we believe the studios building with them carry real responsibility. So we hold ourselves to a clear standard.

Human judgment stays in command

AI accelerates our work; it never replaces the people accountable for it. Every product ships with a human at the wheel.

Respect for creators

We build AI into our process to amplify human craft, not erase it — and we stay mindful of the people, data, and work that make these tools possible.

Honest by default

We're honest about what our technology does and doesn't do, and we'd sooner under-promise than oversell and let you down.

Privacy by design

Immersive and AI systems can learn a great deal about someone, and we treat that access as a responsibility we take seriously.

Build for the long arc

We make decisions for where the technology — and its impact on people — is heading, not just for what ships this quarter.

Built for well-being

Immersion is powerful. We design for comfort, attention, and healthy limits — meant to enrich someone's time, not capture it.

Accessible by design

Great experiences should reach everyone. We design for a range of abilities, comfort needs, and devices so more can take part.

People over metrics

We optimize for genuine value, not dark patterns or engagement bait — when something wins the metric but costs the person, we leave it on the table.

This is how we stay ahead of the curve without losing the plot: experiences that feel like the future and treat the people in them with respect.

The founder

Marshal D. Hernandez

Founder & Owner, rayBLAST, LLC

Marshal brings three decades of technology entrepreneurship, game design and development, and immersive computing experience to everything he builds. He founded rayBLAST in 2007, originally crafting titles for Nintendo platforms, and has guided the studio through every inflection point since — console to mobile, mobile to XR, and now into the convergence of smart glasses, wearables, and agentic AI.

What's stayed constant is his instinct for reading where the technology is heading and moving early. He leads rayBLAST's product vision, applying immersive design principles and proven game dynamics to make experiences more intuitive, more engaging, and easier to retain — across the full breadth of modern XR hardware, from Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 to the new generation of lightweight AR glasses and wearables.

His leadership style is multifaceted and dynamic — rooted in innovation, creative problem-solving, and strategic relationship-building. Partners and investors who align with him are working with a seasoned technologist known for his forward vision and a proven track record of betting early on the right technology.
